Welcome to the official web site of the Niue Film Commission (NFC), your one-stop office for film permits, location information and filming assistance in Niue. Our main task is to help promote and attract film productions into Niue, but also include the monitoring, supervision and assistance of film productions operating under the film permits issued by the Niue Film Commission. At the present Niue Film Commission is operating under the office of the Economics Planning Development & Statistics unit (EPDS).

2011 Niue Arts Festival 23rd - 30th April
The Niuean community is gearing up to hold its bi-annual Niue Arts and Cultural festival or in the Niuean language, Taonaga Tufuga Niue from the 23rd to the 30th or April. The Festival will facilitate workshops in sustaining Vagahau Niue (Niuean language), traditional agricultural and medicinal practices, heritage and cultural sites, Vaka (outrigger canoe) making and Niuean traditional arts and craft. About Niue
Niue is one of the most isolated countries in the world, and in terms of population size is also one of the smallest. With average yearly temperatures of 27 degrees Celsius, Niue has one of the most un-touched and un-spoilt marine ecosystems in the world with world class underwater visibility. Niue is also one of the very few places on earth where you can have close encounters with whales as they frequent Niue’s warm water to calve from end of June through October. Locations
Niue's coastline offers a variety of locations for filming marine scenery or wildlife most notably whales, dolphins and the Katuali, a sea snake unique to Niue as well as a plethora of fish and other marine life. Niue also has a forestry conservation park for tropical forestry scenery, with a number of wildlife that include the Uga (the coconut or robber crab) and a number of birdlife like the Lupe ( pigeon) and the Peka (fruit bat). Niue Film Permits
The Niue Film Commission requires film companies coming to film in Niue to apply for a Niue Film Permit. The Niue Film Permit allows the film company to film only in location(s) specified however the companies must abide by the Guidelines and Conditions. Getting to Niue
